Dr. Nagle is board certified in preventive medicine with a sub-specialty certification in aerospace medicine. He owns and operates Wilderness Medicine, LLC located in Washington, Virginia. In treating patients he looks for root causes, considers the context of a person’s life (home environment, work environment, activities, travel, diet, etc.), and strives to find definitive solutions to health issues with a holistic approach.
He has practiced medicine for 15 years in the realms of internal medicine, urgent/emergent care, and aerospace medicine. He has served as a flight surgeon for the United States Air Force and supported the NASA Astronaut Corps, caring for astronauts on Space Shuttle Discovery STS-133 launch as an emergency responder. He completed graduate school in radiation health physics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and medical school at the University of Maryland, Baltimore; he trained in residencies with Tufts University School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and NASA Aerospace Medicine. He has practiced medicine in a variety of settings from academic, military, NASA, FAA, community health centers, to private practice. He holds certifications in advanced cardiac life support, advanced trauma life support, and critical care air transport. Complementing his work as an aerospace medicine physician, he works as a commercial pilot with 22 years of flying experience.
