Christian Co has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 2003 and a licensed physical therapist since 1989. In addition to direct patient care, Chris has managed rehabilitation services, skilled nursing facilities, and an upscale assisted living residence. He holds a current physical therapy license in the District of Columbia and a nursing home administrator license in the State of Maryland.
Chris started his career as a staff physical therapist in an acute care and outpatient rehabilitation setting in Houston Texas. He also worked as a traveling therapist in Texas and Florida. After a move to the Washington, DC area, he provided outpatient support for brain injury patients and on-site support at a return-to-work rehabilitation facility. Chris then proceeded to expand his career through work in various settings, working with hospitals and private rehab companies. In 1998 he joined Genesis Rehabilitation as a Rehabilitation Manager, leading on-site management of Medicare’s new Prospective Payment Service (PPS).
He joined HCR Manor Care as a Rehabilitation Manager in 2000 and later joined its Administrator in Training Program. After completing the AIT program and obtaining his license as Nursing Home Administrator, he took on overall management of an HCR Manor Care skilled nursing facility in Largo, MD.
Chris worked as an Executive Director at several Sunrise Senior Living facilities in Silver Spring, MD, and Washington DC (2005), before assuming the role of Vice President of Rehabilitation Services at NMS Healthcare (2009); supervised operation, training roll-out; managed recruitment of therapists and turned NMS Healthcare into a 100% in-house therapy company.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Santo Tomas (Manila, The Philippines) in biology; and a Bachelor of Science Degree from De La Salle University (Cavite, The Philippines) in physical therapy.
